I have been to the grocery store a few times now. As it is generally something that is avoided for as long as possible at home, I expect it to take numerous trips to actually get what I need while in China.
Dish soap has been on my grocery list for several days because although my bed gets made and the garbage is taken, every day, my cups are neither replaced or washed. This is fine with me, but I would like to wash them. So after about my third time to the grocery store I set out to find the dish soap. This may sound like a simple task but it requires some time, patience and careful study of the pictures on the label. My ability to read pictures is improving with my new found illiteracy. After passing the section of bottles of cleaners with toilets and bathtubs I get to the section of bottles with pictures of dishes. I made sure to get a bottle with a picture of dishes and with hands on it, as I am hand washing my dishes. The bottle I selected also has a picture of ginger on it, as it is ginger scented. It seems to be the right product and my cups are clean again. Mission completed.
This trip to the grocery store I also discovered the potato chip aisle. Did you know Lay’s Potato Chips also come in the following flavors: Cucumber, Fried Prawn, Lobster Cheddar, Italian Tomato and Meat Sauce as well as Blueberry to name a few.
